Onder het pseudoniem Xama draaide ik in de jaren ’80 in verschillende discotheken, clubs en op vrije radiozenders.
Als resident deejay trof je me op zondagmiddag en zondagavond in Magadancing “Dallas” (Lembeke). Later was ik ook resident deejay in The Chaplin (Zomergem) en tijdens de zomer in Dancing Tropical (Middelkerke).
Daarnaast verzorgde ik tal van gastoptredens in Club 55, Twioo, ’t Kofschip en LP (Gent).
Als radiopresentator hoorde je me op verschillende zenders zoals Radio One met onder andere Funky Thuesday (Gent), Radio Superstar (Gent), Radio Toestel (Gent) en als gast-DJ op Radio Melonia (Middelkerke).
In 1986 stopte ik… om ooit terug te keren in een comeback Xama’s return.
Ik probeer hier geluids- en beeldmateriaal te verzamelen uit die tijd. Als je zelf er nog zou hebben, zou je mij er enorm veel plezier mee doen.
Xama’s return
Al enige tijd staat op mijn bucketlist een soort comeback in de vorm van een eigen dancenummer. Een terugreis vanuit 1986, na een rondreis door de kosmos, op zoek naar de juiste beats. Hieronder kun je een eerste versie beluisteren… nog niet voor publicatie.
